PRAGMATIC FUNCTIONS OF NEOLOGISMS IN INTERNET DISCOURSE
Abstract This article studies the pragmatic functions of neologisms in Internet discourse and classifies them according to their communicative roles. Through a qualitative analysis of digital linguistics, their context-dependence and linguistic flexibility are emphasized. We have examined how Internet neologisms fulfill nominative, expressive, referential, social, economic, and technical functions in modern communication. It is concluded that neologisms reflect the linguistic trends and cultural changes of digital communication and will remain an important topic for linguistic research in the future.
