ANALYZING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TASK-BASED READING ACTIVITIES IN DEVELOPING A1 LEVEL READING SKILLS
This exploratory action research investigates the impact of task-based reading activities on the development of reading skills among A1 level EFL (English as a Foreign Language) learners. The study was conducted with a group of 15 students at a language learning center over a four-week period. Various task-based activities such as matching headings, sequencing, and information gap tasks were integrated into regular reading lessons. Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, classroom observation, and student feedback. The results indicate a noticeable improvement in students’ reading comprehension, vocabulary recognition, and engagement with texts. This research highlights the potential of task-based learning to support beginner-level students in developing core reading skills in a meaningful and interactive way.
