Formal Interpretation of Wavefunction Collapse via Interaction-Driven Localization

This paper presents a formal interpretation of wavefunction collapse grounded in physical interaction and environment-induced decoherence, rather than consciousness or observer-driven measurement. By modeling quantum systems through entanglement with macroscopic detectors, the analysis demonstrates how localized outcomes; commonly interpreted as particles, arise from the suppression of coherence in the system’s density matrix. The wavefunction is treated as a real energy distribution, while the particle is understood as the discrete result of energy transfer during measurement. The framework integrates foundational concepts from the Schrödinger equation, quantum interference, and Hilbert space duality, while distinguishing itself from other interpretations such as Copenhagen, Many-Worlds, and objective collapse theories. Additional commentary addresses the role of perception, decoherence timescales, and implications of no-go theorems such as Bell’s and Kochen–Specker’s. This work contributes a pedagogically clear, ontologically minimal model of quantum measurement, clarifying the transition from probabilistic wave dynamics to classical observation without invoking metaphysical assumptions.
