Turing Gender Equality Network International Women's Day 2025 - Meme-tivism Workshop (Introduction)
The Turing Gender Equality Network (GEN) are honoured to host Feminist Design for International Women's Day (IWD) 2025, to lead us in an intersectional, craft-based, design process, exploring the use of memes to communicate issues in feminist data literacy, a.k.a. “meme-tivism”. This co-creation event is for everyone, not just people who identify as women! Participants came to learn about the issues, share their passions, and engage all levels of crafting skills in joyous celebration. The meme-tivism culminated in the display of our memes around the office (in-person participants) and digital spaces (remote participants). These slides introduce the workshop, the context of IWD2025, and give thanks to those who have made this event possible.
