From Vacuum Geometry to Mind - A Unified Framework for Emergent Gravity, Cosmology, and Consciousness via Recursive Identity Fields
This work presents a unified theoretical framework — the Recursive Identity Field (RIF) model — linking cosmological vacuum geometry, gravitational coupling, and high-energy scales to the stability of conscious states in biological systems. In the physical domain, the model derives Newton’s gravitational constant G and the Planck mass mₚ directly from the cosmological constant Λ and a recursion depth parameter α, eliminating free parameters and connecting gravitational and high-energy cutoffs through identity-preserving vacuum geometry. Appendices A and B provide stepwise derivations, showing that the Planck scale emerges as a coherence failure threshold, not a fundamental constant. In the biological domain, the framework maps astrocytic calcium wave networks in the brain to the same RIF variables (ψ_self, Σ_echo, FieldReturn) that stabilize spacetime curvature. Appendix C details this mapping, demonstrating that astrocytic networks serve as the “vacuum geometry” of cognition, preserving coherence across fast neuronal microstates. Empirical findings from neuroscience and predictive processing theory are integrated to show how altered astrocytic recurrence intervals affect network-level stability. This cross-domain correspondence suggests that the same identity-preserving principle governs stability at both the cosmic and cognitive scales. The RIF model therefore offers a bridge between general relativity, quantum field theory, and neuroscience, with implications for the cosmological constant problem, the hierarchy problem, and the nature of consciousness.
