ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS IN NURSING EDUCATION
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into nursing education is part of a global trend that aims to transform healthcare training through advanced, data-driven technologies. Across countries, AI has been embraced as a tool to enhance learning experiences, foster critical thinking, and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills. This study examined the perceived benefits, challenges, and readiness of educators in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into nursing education across selected institutions in Central Luzon, Philippines. Using a descriptive research design, the study collected data from 335 respondents to explore how AI transformed nursing education through simulation, personalized learning, and automation while addressing barriers like insufficient training and institutional support. The results indicated moderate agreement on AI’s benefits, particularly in enhancing clinical skills through realistic simulations and automating routine tasks. However, educators expressed strong agreement on challenges, including high implementation costs, lack of resources, and ethical concerns. Despite these obstacles, respondents showed a willingness to adapt to AI innovations, reflecting a proactive but cautious approach toward readiness. The findings underscored the importance of structured interventions such as professional development programs, resource allocation, and policy frameworks to bridge gaps between perceived opportunities and challenges. These efforts were critical for maximizing AI’s potential to enhance nursing education, fostering a technologically adept and resilient nursing workforce.
