Enhancing Student Welfare: A Systematic Review to Strengthening Student Welfare Services in San Isidro College

Students need more than just academic instruction to succeed—they also need support systems that help them grow, cope, and thrive. Welfare services in schools play a significant role in ensuring students have access to these supports. However, many institutions do not fully use available research to strengthen and enhance these programs. Schools can make better choices for student welfare and long-term success by using research to guide improvements. A comprehensive review of research outputs was conducted through a carefully guided selection process that focused on relevance, quality, and institutional origin. Ten articles were analyzed using a layered approach, starting with thematic coding, followed by comparing content across studies and ending with a detailed evaluation of differences and similarities. The study revealed that mental health literacy, socio-economic conditions, cultural identity, and technological use shape student welfare. Emotional challenges, financial burdens, and academic responsibilities were common themes that affected students' well-being. Support systems such as community engagement, mental health services, and inclusive programs were found to be essential in improving student experiences. The review emphasized the need for responsive, student-centered, and sustainable welfare strategies in academic institutions. Findings suggest that comprehensive services must be grounded in students lived realities to ensure their holistic development. The results underscore the importance of developing student welfare services that are inclusive, flexible, and tailored to students' real-life challenges. Institutions can create more effective support systems that foster well-being and academic success by aligning programs with students' emotional, academic, and social needs.
