Investigation of Transitional Shock Wave Boundary Layer Interaction using Flux-Reconstruction method with Positivity Preserving Entropy-based Filtering approach
Scale Resolving Simulations are performed using a python-based flux reconstruction method (PyFR) to investigate a canonical problem of an oblique shock impinging upon a flat plate laminar boundary layer, which induces transition to turbulent boundary layer. Flux Reconstruction method offers high degree of element locality which allows for more efficient parallel computation. A novel positivity preserving entropy-based filter is used for shock-capturing. Unsteadiness of the separation bubble is investigated and compared between flow domain containing boundary layer imposed inlet and viscous leading edge interaction.
