Open Science, Sample and Research Data Management - An Introduction
This lecture is intended as a ~90 minutes long introduction to the topics of Open Science and research data and sample management for geoscience students. It builds on the basic workflow from field sampling to report/publication and introduces concepts like Open Science, vocabularies, data schemas, standards, persistent identifiers, FAIR data, licenses, repositories and data discovery, which are necessary to understand before starting with own research. For the latter, it provides some general guidance and recommendations.
