On the Limits of Modeling Human-Induced Climate Change: A Call for Scientific Humility

Claims regarding human-induced climate change, particularly the role of CO2 emissions in altering atmospheric temperature, are highly polarized, with some asserting scientific proof and others claiming disproof. This paper argues that neither position is tenable due to fundamental limitations in current scientific frameworks. Atmospheric temperature is a complex biospheric phenomenon driven by interdependent processes, including living systems, which defy mechanistic modeling. The absence of a unified theory reconciling quantum mechanics and general relativity, coupled with the arbitrary nature of SI unit constants, undermines reliable climate predictions. Current models rely on statistical assumptions rooted in a mechanistic worldview, which may not capture the causal dynamics of a living universe. We conclude that neither proof nor disproof of human-induced climate change is currently possible, urging scientific humility until a comprehensive theory of the universe is established.
