THE ROLE OF EXTENSIVE LISTENING IN DEVELOPING PRONUNCIATION AND FLUENCY
Extensive listening plays a significant role in the process of acquiring a second language, particularly in enhancing pronunciation and fluency. Unlike intensive listening, which focuses on detailed comprehension and analysis, extensive listening immerses learners in authentic language input. This article explores the theoretical foundations, pedagogical implications, and practical applications of extensive listening in pronunciation and fluency development. Additionally, it draws on empirical studies and expert perspectives to highlight how sustained exposure to natural speech patterns facilitates automaticity, rhythm, intonation, and accurate articulation.
