The Perception of Insecurity Among Migrant Women: The Case of Edirne
The main starting point of human mobility is people's desire to increase their security. Womenfrom marginalized groups in various societies engage in migration due to the heightened insecuritycaused by gender inequality. Immigrant women face multiple factors that increase theirvulnerability in the countries they relocate to, persisting even after their migration. One of theissues among these challenges is the lack of accessibility to healthcare services. This study exploresthe impact of healthcare accessibility on the security perceptions of immigrant women residing inEdirne, using the cultures of migration and conflict model developed by Cohen and Sirkeci as aframework. Through the face-to-face interviews collected data analysed within thematic analysismethod. Upon concluding the study, it becomes evident that immigrant women's lack of access tohealth services amplifies their sense of insecurity, which in turn impacts their future migrationplans, including their inclination to relocate to a different country.
