Speech Intention and Its Expression in Discourse

Abstract: Effective communication hinges not only on the words spoken but also on the underlying intentions behind them. Speech intention—the purpose or goal a speaker has in mind—plays a crucial role in how messages are conveyed and interpreted. This article explores the multifaceted nature of speech intention and examines its manifestation and interpretation within discourse.
