Harnessing the Power of Solar Energy in Ghana : A Sustainable Alternative to Grid Dependency and Rising Electricity Costs
This article discusses the possibility of applying solar energy as a clean and affordable substitute for the national electricity grid in Ghana. This study answers the question of escalating electricity bills, national grid overload, and sustainability of the environment. Since the country has abundant solar resources, the article advises increased investment in solar photovoltaic systems, policy constraints, and solar education initiatives at the grassroots level. It provides empirical policy recommendations to adopt clean energy in a bid to become energy self-reliant, economically relieved, and climate resilient. This study contributes to the body of knowledge in renewable energy policy and sustainable development in West Africa.
