The Voyage Within: S. H. Jhabvala's Poems Written in Prison
This research article peeps into the poems of S.H. Jhabvala who makes his voyage within while living in prison. Prison does not prove to be a curse but a boon in making the poet realize the ways of the world which are certainly not proper because they can give the materialistic pleasures of life. The way that leads to the spiritual way is the way to make union with God. The three poems taken for study reveal the poet’s longing for God and this longing can be translated into reality only when one feels free and rises above the level of ‘mine and thine’ which certainly create factions and fractions to the extent of fracturing soul.
