NOSOCOMIAL INFECTIONS AND THEIR INCIDENCE AND CHARACTERISTICS
Nosocomial infections (NIs) are infectious diseases that occur among patients being treated in medical institutions or among healthcare personnel. If such infections appear within 48 hours after hospital admission, they are classified as nosocomial infections. These infections can slow down patient recovery, increase treatment costs, and in some cases lead to death.
