THE ROLE OF A TEACHER IN COMMUNICATIVE ACTIVITIES
In recent decades, communicative competence has become a primary goal in English language teaching, especially within the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) framework. This has transformed the role of the teacher from a knowledge transmitter to a facilitator, organizer, and co-communicator. This article explores the evolving functions of teachers in communicative activities, focusing on how they design, implement, and evaluate interaction-based tasks in the EFL classroom. Data from Karakalpak State University is analyzed to demonstrate practical applications, student responses, and current challenges in implementing CLT principles. The findings show that the teacher's involvement, creativity, and pedagogical flexibility are crucial to the success of communicative learning environments.
