IMPACT OF DEMOCRATIC VALUES ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF CIVIL SOCIETY

The socio-political practice of recent decades gives grounds to state the success of spreading the foundations of democratic development, since Western standards of democracy are now professed by the population of Eastern European states. In the political and legal theory of the study of the phenomenon of democracy, there are several dimensions, which, in particular, are based on certain social ideas and fundamental democratic values. It is worth noting that civil society exists exclusively in conditions of democracy, ensuring the democratic nature of power institutions and the state. In developed democracies, the legal system is working effectively, and human rights violations are not systemic in nature. Regarding the factors of formation and development of democracy in the context of civil society development, the main one is strict compliance with laws, procedures, democratic principles and values by all state and government bodies, political parties, and civil society structures. Therefore, the development of a developed civil society in Ukraine is a component of its democratic progress and confirmation of belonging to the European cultural and civilizational area.
