Authorship Verification in the Antwerp School
This research is part of the project: Boendale’s Many Faces: Modeling Historical Positionality in Jan van Boendale’s Oeuvre (funded by FWO and hosted at the University of Antwerp). The Antwerp School is a corpus of eleven early fourteenth-century texts, written in Antwerp. All of the texts have been linked, to a greater or lesser extent, to the Middle Dutch author Jan van Boendale (c. 1280-1351?). Yet, except for Jans teesteye, none of the works can be linked to Boendale with complete certainty. This research explores how computational authorship verification can contribute to this research question. The poster shows the results of the analysis I outlined in the abstract.
