HYBRID ENERGY STORAGE FOR SUSTAINABLE PARK MICROGRIDS: A PATH TO ENHANCED RESILIENCE

As global concerns regarding the energy crisis and environmental pollution intensify, clean renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and nuclear power have gained significant attention. Microgrids, as a critical technology for integrating renewable distributed generation systems, energy storage devices, and loads into controllable sub-networks, offer significant promise for improving energy efficiency and reliability. Microgrids can operate both on-grid and off-grid, enabling flexible and resilient energy solutions. Among the different types of microgrids, Direct Current (DC) microgrids are increasingly popular due to their simple structure, high efficiency, and superior power quality compared to Alternating Current (AC) microgrids. Additionally, DC microgrids avoid issues related to frequency offset, phase synchronization, and reactive power compensation, further contributing to their adoption. However, despite these advantages, DC microgrids face challenges associated with intermittent power output from distributed generation devices and load variability. These challenges can lead to large-scale voltage fluctuations on the DC bus, power imbalances, and reduced reliability in the system's power supply. This paper explores these issues in greater detail and discusses potential solutions to enhance the performance and reliability of DC microgrids
