Abstract Employee job performance is one of the most important elements that is necessary to achieve organizational effectiveness. PsyCap, or psychological capital, has gained a lot of attention recently as a cutting-edge tactic to enhance employees' job performance. The extent to which PsyCap influences the job performance of public sector bank employees, however, has not been investigated. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine how employees' PsyCap impacted their performance at public sector banks in South Mumbai. The data were collected at random from a sample of 176 managers and 357 non-managerial employees from public sector banks in South Mumbai. A questionnaire was distributed to the staff in order to assess their PsyCap and productivity. The collected data was examined using regression analysis and the correlation coefficient. The results of the study demonstrated a robust and positive relationship between PsyCap and work performance. Therefore, increasing an employee's overall PsyCap is recommended in order to increase their job performance.
