Avrupa Birliği'nin Geleceğinde Avrupa Siyasi Topluluğu Fikri

In the changing international environment against the backdrop of the Russia-Ukraine War thatstarted in February 2022, a new idea has begun to be discussed in the European Union (EU). Theidea of a European Political Community (EPC), put forward by French President EmmanuelMacron, envisages cooperation with non-EU countries on issues about the European continent. This article asserts that the concept under discussion resembles the notion of a 'privilegedpartnership' that has long been on the EU's agenda while distinguishing it from the Council ofEurope, which presently encompasses non-EU countries. By employing the historical narrativemethod, the study aims to examine the extent to which the EPC idea can be successful, consideringthe consequences of the Russia-Ukraine War on the EU. In this context, the article evaluates theassumption that the ECC idea will strengthen the EU's global relations and support the Union indealing with global crises. Keywords: European Union, European Political Community (EPC), European Integration, RussiaUkrainian War
