The impact of climate change on internal displacement in Somali.

ABSTRACT As based on the obtained result, Somalia faces serious environmental problems that threaten community health, ecosystems, and sustainable development. A displacement is a problem involving many factors such as air, water, soil, and noise. The impact of IDPs on climate change is enormous and poses a serious threat to public health and the environmental conditions. With this research, aim to identify the specific effects of displacement, to raise awareness among policymakers and the public, and provide evidence-based mitigation in environmental risk factors in Somalia. The study focused on environmental issues that combine industrialization, urbanization, deforestation, and mismanagement that affecting human health, ecosystems, and development efforts in Somalia. The report also highlights the importance of understanding the impact of changes in environmental risks, particularly changes in droughts and floods, on the development of infectious diseases spreading in Somalia which different types of pollution are exist, while recognizes that air, water, and soil and climate change is a serious problem in Somalia and has a serious impact on community health and social development. The general objective of this study was to assess how displacement impacts climate change of Somalia. The researcher used descriptive statistics research design both in qualitative and quantitative. The target population of this study IDPs and NGO workers and selected 52 people representing internal displaced persons (IDPs) and NGO workers in the field as a sample size. Data was collected through questionnaire and finally processed and analyzed the result using computer SPSS. During the study found that displaced areas that lacks appropriate housing and sanitation have a significant negative impact on climate change of Somalia. Also indicates that fighting against improper housing, overcrowding areas and lack of sanitation are the most effective and enhanced for well climate and ecosystem of Somalia. The researcher recommends, the Somalia policy makers to formulate ecosystem protection policies and make a positive change in the attainment on it.
