DESIGNING PLAY-BASED TOOLS FOR GRAMMAR COMPETENCE IN PRIMARY SCHOOL
The development of grammar competence is essential for language proficiency, particularly in primary school students who are just beginning to explore the complexities of language. Traditional grammar instruction often focuses on memorization and repetition of rules, which can be disengaging for young learners. In contrast, play-based learning has emerged as an effective, engaging approach that supports deeper cognitive engagement, especially in grammar acquisition. This article explores the potential of play-based tools to enhance grammar competence in primary school learners. It presents the theoretical underpinnings of play-based learning, outlines specific play-based strategies for grammar instruction, and provides practical examples of activities designed to foster grammar skills.
