D4.7: XGain Knowledge Facilitation Tool (1st version)

In this deliverable, the configuration of the KFT is presented as defined from the KFT architecture design and technical specifications work performed in T2.4, and based on the functional and non-functional requirements specified in WP2. The front-end graphical Human Machine Interface (HMI) was developed following the Graphical User Interface (GUI) design principles, and equipped with the necessary functionalities and features to ensure implementation of the defined functional and non-functional requirements. The HMI architecture design, programming languages and tools used for the implementation are presented. Furthermore, the deliverable explains the different modules (models and databases) constituting the back-end of the KFT, including the Technology Mix finder and Dimensioning Solver models, the Techno-economic and Socio-environmental assessment models, and the Business Model proposer, and their integration and communication. The roadmap from initial mock-up designs to the KFT development and implementation is discussed, and the flow of pages and key functionalities of this first version are demonstrated using an exemplary user session. The KFT functionalities and features, graphical designs, and back-end models will be further developed and fine-tuned during the Use Case (UC) testing and validation work in WP5, before the second version of the tool, D4.8, is released.
