Protoplanetary discs in different environments

Planet formation and the evolution of protoplanetary discs depend on the characteristics of their surrounding environment. In particular, external photoevaporation driven by nearby massive stars, gravitational interactions with low-mass cluster members, and late-stage accretion all impact the properties and dispersal of protoplanetary discs. In this talk, I will review the physics behind these processes, the observational evidence, and theoretical predictions. I will also discuss how new and upcoming instruments will allow us to explore the feedback from highly energetic star-forming environments, which are located at great distances and are subject to high levels of extinction and stellar density.
