Seasonal Variation of Ecotoxicological Parameters in Revdanda Creek
Abstract: Water quality in coastal creeks is increasingly impacted by anthropogenic activities, leading to the presence of emerging contaminants that pose ecological and human health risks. This study investigates the seasonal variation of key ecotoxicological parameters in a tidal creek across four distinct locations during two different seasons. Water samples were analyzed for nitrate (NO₃⁻), phosphate (P), chemical oxygen demand (COD), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), dissolved oxygen (DO), and heavy metals including cadmium (Cd), arsenic (As), lead (Pb), chromium (Cr), and mercury (Hg). The results highlight spatial and temporal fluctuations in contaminant levels, indicating potential pollution sources and seasonal influences on water quality. Elevated concentrations of heavy metals and nutrients in certain locations suggest industrial, agricultural, and domestic runoff contributions. The study underscores the need for regular monitoring and sustainable water management strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of these contaminants on marine ecosystems
