IMPLEMENTASI ALAT PENGUSIR BURUNG MENGGUNAKAN METODE SUARA OTOMATIS DAN SOLAR CELL (STUDI KASUS: PERSAWAHAN DARURRUHAMA KOTA PALEMBANG)

Efforts to control pests on rice agricultural land continue to be implemented to increase crop yields through chemical and mechanical methods. One of the main pests causing significant losses is birds, which consume rice seeds. Rice production in South Sumatra reaches 55,532 tons per year, with potential yield losses due to bird attacks reaching up to 30%. This study aims to design and test the effectiveness of a solar cell-based bird repellent device, named Audio Sweep, as an innovative solution to reduce crop losses in rice fields caused by bird attacks. The method used is the Research and Development (R&D) approach, encompassing design, prototyping, and field testing in the Darurruhama rice field area, Palembang. This device employs sound waves at specific frequencies generated through the Audio Sweep method and is equipped with a monitoring system based on the ESP32-CAM microcontroller. Trial results indicate that the device can produce sound with an intensity effective at repelling birds ast an optimal distance of 2 meters while consistently detecting and monitoring bird presence. The average power generated by the solar cell system is 14.92 Watts, ensuring the device's operational sustainability. The study concludes that Audio Sweep is effective in mitigating bird pest threats, supports sustainable agriculture through an environmentally friendly approach, and contributes to strengthening Indonesia’s agricultural vision toward Indonesia Emas 2024.
