De afeto, memórias e saberes: Uma análise cultural dos livros de receitas de família
This article explores the heritage of family’s cookbooks in the face of social and technological transformations. In a context of digital changes, the preservation of cultural traditions and identities is highlighted. These books not only transmit culinary knowledge, but also affective memories and traditions through gastronomy as a cultural expression and a form of emotional connection between people. The qualitative methodology chosen combines analysis of cultural texts and informal interviews. The research emphasizes how these books support traditions and preserve the family's affective memory. The results highlight that cooking recipes carry narratives and collective memories, cross generations and play a crucial role in family’s knowledge management. However, challenges in the preservation of culinary knowledge materialized in physical books are manifested in the midst of technological changes. The relationship between food, memory and identity is complex, with emotional and nostalgic connections linked to cooking recipes. Furthermore, the role of women in preserving these traditions is emphasized, despite the history of low education and illiteracy. Given the foregoing, family’s cookbooks are cultural tools to maintain identities and traditions, even facing challenges in continuity in the digital age, they continue as carriers of memories and knowledge, connecting different generations and transmitting values and feelings that shape family relationships.
