D-TA2.1 Smart Energy Systems Trans-national Access Scientific Highlights and Lessons Learned
This report presents a detailed analysis of the Trans-national Access (TA) facilities TA2 and their role in supporting advanced research in energy systems integration and validation. It begins by outlining the purpose and structure of the document, setting the stage for a comprehensive review of the user projects hosted by TA2 Research Infrastructures. A breakdown of the user projects distributed across the TA2 Research Infrastructures. These projects are analysed from different perspectives: their scientific focus and key features, such as objects under test and targeted end users of the research. The report highlights how the facilities have enabled a diverse range of experimental and validation activities, supporting both academic and industrial innovation. The document also features a carefully chosen selection of exemplary projects, showcasing impactful work from both industry, academia and research institutions. These examples illustrate the practical applications and scientific contributions made possible by the TA2 infrastructures. The report concludes with key lessons learned from the hosted projects, offering insights into operational best practices and areas for improvement.
