Exploring the Mechanical and Thermodynamic Properties of Al7075 AMCs for High-Performance Applications
Abstract This study explores the mechanical and thermodynamic properties of Al7075 aluminum matrix composites (AMCs) using an advanced ab initio approach to provide insights into its high-performance potential. Al7075 is a high-strength aluminum alloy widely used across various industries due to its excellent mechanical properties. However, a fundamental understanding of how its composition impacts material behavior remains limited. This research employs composition optimization to investigate the thermodynamic stability and mechanical responses of Al7075, achieving a comprehensive view of its structural characteristics. Key findings demonstrate that optimizing alloy composition can enhance material performance by improving stability and mechanical resilience, which are critical for applications in aerospace and automotive sectors. This work contributes a novel computational framework employing PTC MATHCAD for thermodynamic properties calculation and MS Excel Toolkit for mechanical properties calculation. The mechanical properties have been calculated for entire composition range and with all permutation and combination of composition of individual elements. and to advance the fundamental understanding and development of aluminum alloys for high-performance applications.
