AN EXAMINATION OF HANDBALL PLAYERS' MOTIVATION LEVELS FOR SPORTS ACHIEVEMENT WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO PLAYING POSITIONS

The purpose of the study was to analyze the sports achievement motivation of handball players in relation to playing positions. Men Handball players from Bharathidasan University Inter-collegiate Handball tournament during 2024-25 were selected. In this tournament, 30 novice players which include 10 wingers, 10 backs and 10 center and 30 experienced players which include 10 wingers, 10 backs and 10 center were selected as subjects randomly. The sports achievement motivation of handball players was assessed by M. L. Kamlesh questionnaire. The statistical technique includes descriptive statistics and factorial ANOVA. There was a significant difference among novice and experienced players on sports achievement motivation of handball players.
