The RAM-Limited Universe: A Resolution-Shift Model for Apparent Cosmic Acceleration
This paper presents a novel cosmological framework in which cosmic acceleration and “dark energy” are not fundamental forces, but observational artifacts of limited information-processing capacity (“RAM”) in the universe. By modeling the apparent redshift as a resolution-shift phenomenon, we replace spatial expansion with a time-dependent change in observational granularity, governed by entropy increase. The Pantheon+ supernova data is fitted using a minimal two-parameter function, matching ΛCDM predictions without requiring dark energy. The model proposes that dark energy is an emergent effect caused by the dilution of information density, not an exotic component of the cosmos. We provide explicit formulae, physical parameter estimates, and testable predictions, positioning this theory as a direct, falsifiable alternative to standard cosmology.
