Financial Performance, Profitability, and Efficiency Analysis of Selected Health Insurance Companies

Abstract: In India, the health insurance industry is a new one. Numerous private sector businesses have emerged because of the insurance industry's privatization. Both public and private insurance companies provide health insurance products. A small number of private businesses exclusively deal in health insurance. This study focuses on the financial performance of selected health insurance companies, examine their profitability, and analyze their efficiency levels. This study uses a quantitative research approach based on secondary data from financial reports and industry publications of selected health insurance companies. It applies financial ratio analysis, including profitability ratios (Net Profit Margin, Return on Assets, Return on Equity) and efficiency ratios (Expense Ratio, Claim Settlement Ratio), to assess performance. Statistical tools like ANOVA and regression analysis help compare financial efficiency and identify key patterns among companies. This study assumes accurate financial statements, considers profitability and efficiency as key indicators, and expects variations among companies to help investors make informed decisions. Keywords: Health Insurance Industry, Financial Performance, Profitability Analysis, Efficiency Analysis, Investment Decision-Making
