Nano-adsorbents for the Effective Removal of Heavy Metal Ions from Domestic and Industrial Wastewater: A Review of Current Scenario

Abstract: In recent decades, there has been a significant increase in the amount of heavy metal ionpollutants in water. Given the high toxicity of heavy metal ions, theirremoval from contaminated water bodies has been a significant concern. Advanced nano-engineeredtechnologies have created new avenues for the treatment of such metal ions. In order to extractthe heavy metal ions found in wastewater, it has offered knowledgeable and reasonably pricedsolutions. Heavy metal ions found in municipal and industrial wastewater can be effectively removedby using nano-adsorbents, which have demonstrated a higher adsorption rate and ahigher adsorption efficiency. These drugs are easily recovered from following treatment andhave significantly improved operational conditions. By gathering all of the research papers on thesynthesis and benefits of nano-adsorbents in the treatment of wastewater contaminated with heavymetal ions, the current review provides the references examination. The other Nano absorbents forscavenging metallic ions are also summarized. Many harmful metal ions can be effectively removedby these nanomaterials, indicating their great potential in this regard
