There Is No Glucose-Excreting Cell: A Structural and Biochemical Rebuttal
This paper challenges the common claim that intestinal epithelial cells absorb glucose via SGLT1 and then excrete it into the bloodstream through GLUT proteins. We argue that once glucose enters a cell, it is rapidly phosphorylated and metabolized, making its excretion both physiologically and biochemically implausible. This principle holds across all cell types, including glial cells. We propose a structural reinterpretation of glucose flow through intercellular spaces instead of cytoplasmic routes. The prevailing textbook model must be reconsidered in light of universal biochemical laws.
