Strengthening ESP Students' Written Arguments Through Structured Debates on Kialo Edu
Abstract: This article presents a Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) activity using Kialo-Edu to teach argumentation and critical thinking in Business English. The task—debating the role of AI in business decisions—demonstrates how structured online debates can bridge oral discussion and persuasive writing while fostering specialized vocabulary acquisition. Practical steps, student outcomes, and reflections align with principles of inquiry-based learning (Kiddle, 2013) and collaborative argumentation.
