Smart Parking System Using Image Processing for Efficient Space Management
With the rapid rise in vehicle usage, finding an available parking spot has become increasingly difficult, leading to traffic congestion and inefficiencies. Ineffective parking management, particularly in urban areas, results in illegal roadside parking and wasted time searching for vacant spaces. To address this issue, a smart parking system utilizing real-time image processing is proposed. By employing cameras to capture and analyze parking spaces, the system can identify available slots and provide real-time updates. The captured images differentiate between occupied and vacant spaces, allowing drivers to locate parking spots efficiently without unnecessary fuel consumption. Compared to traditional manual parking systems, this approach enhances parking management in public spaces, such as offices, shopping centers, and urban parking lots. This smart parking solution not only reduces traffic congestion but also contributes to a more sustainable and organized urban infrastructure.
