BRIDGING WORLD: THE ROLE OF CROSS-CULTURAL COMMUNICATION IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING
Cross-cultural communication is a crucial component of successful foreign language teaching. To the extent that globalisation is increasing and classrooms are becoming more multicultural, foreign language teachers must go beyond grammatical instruction and involve learners in the cultural frameworks that shape language use. This article investigates the overlapping intersection of intercultural competence and foreign language pedagogy, arguing that cultural understanding enhances learners' language competence and engagement. The discussion includes theoretical foundations, practical classroom strategies, and the consequences of neglecting cultural integration in language teaching.
