Relaxation and Attention: The Impacts of Place on Brain Activity Captured by EEG
Abstract The neurocognitive impact of place has great potential to improve location-based services for the cognitive well-being of individuals. The advances in neural and spatial technologies have opened up abundant research opportunities. This study investigates the impacts of a variety of places in urban and natural settings on brain activities including alpha and low beta waves captured by EEG. The two brainwaves indicate relaxation and attention, two important cognitive states, respectively.
