Policy recommendations for an increased support of Citizen Science in Poland
This policy brief, developed by the European Citizen Science (ECS) project, outlines strategies to strengthen support for citizen science initiatives in Poland. As part of the project, a national event titled “Co-creating change: citizen science, national policy, impact” was held in Kraków, organized by the Institute of Urban and Regional Development. Based on a backcasting methodology, it brought together representatives from academia, civil society, public and private sector to examine the current state of citizen science, highlight key challenges and motivations, and proposes actionable policy solutions to embed CS into the national research and innovation framework. Drawing from this co-creation event, this policy brief provides forward-looking policy recommendations for leveraging CS to advance research excellence, societal engagement, and sustainable development in Poland.
