ANALYSIS OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PH VALUE AND BIOGAS PRODUCTION DURING METHANOGENESIS
The growing global industrialisation presents significant environmental challenges, notably climate change and global warming, driven largely by greenhouse gas emissions [1]. Mitigating atmospheric emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) and finding pathways for their sustainable use are crucial scientific goals. Although the microbial processes underlying biogas production are known, the specific influence of hydrogenogenic microorganisms on methane synthesis by methanogens warrants further analytical investigation. This paper addresses this by examining this interaction within a biogas reactor environment. Specifically, we investigated the correlation between pH dynamics and biogas generation, culminating in a mathematical model of the observed phenomena.
