ETIOLOGY, PATHOGENESIS AND EPIDEMIOLOGY OF LISTERIOSIS IN ANIMALS

This article comprehensively reviews the etiology, pathogenesis, and epidemiological features of listeriosis, a disease that is widespread among animals and poses a significant threat to human health. The morphological properties of the causative agent of the disease, Listeria monocytogenes, are described, and its ability to survive in the environment and its ways of spreading are analyzed. The study systematically describes the clinical signs, pathological changes, and the effects of the disease on the body. Among the diagnostic methods, the advantages and features of the use of bacteriological, molecular, and serological methods are emphasized. In addition, effective treatment methods and preventive measures are also included, and the importance of veterinary control is highlighted. Modern approaches to combating listeriosis and comprehensive preventive measures allow to curb the spread of this disease in the agricultural and public health sectors.
