The Simulation Big Bang Hypothesis
We propose the Simulation Big Bang Hypothesis (SBH), a theoretical framework that interprets the Big Bang not as a spontaneous physical event but as the initialization of a computational simulation. This perspective draws from the simulation argument (Bostrom), the Mathematical Universe Hypothesis (Tegmark), Wheeler’s “It from Bit” doctrine, and digital physics. In SBH, the Big Bang is reinterpreted as a boot sequence, physical laws as algorithmic rules, and entropy as computational irreversibility. We formulate key postulates to formalize this view, establish a logical mapping between cosmological phenomena and computational processes, and explore testable implications, philosophical challenges, and potential avenues for empirical inquiry. Crucially, we also highlight how SBH can provide empirically testable predictions, particularly in the domain of quantum gravity and cosmic microwave background anisotropies, suggesting pathways for scientific validation or refutation. email:[email protected]
