TRANSLATION PROBLEMS OF PAREMIOLOGICAL UNITS IN IRRELATIVE LANGUAGES (IN THE CASE OF ENGLISH AND UZBEK)
This article examines the complexities and challenges of translating paremiological units between two irrelative languages, English and Uzbek. Proverbs and sayings are culturally bound and semantically dense, making their accurate translation a significant linguistic and cultural challenge. The paper explores various translation strategies, identifies typical problems, and provides comparative examples to demonstrate the gaps and equivalences between English and Uzbek paremias. Special attention is paid to pragmatic and cultural adaptation as crucial tools for preserving the intended meaning and impact of proverbs across languages.
