Marine Omics Observation Pilot - FAIR-EASE poster 2025
Marine ecosystems host an immense diversity of microbial life forms, yet much of their molecular-level biodiversity remains poorly understood due to limited data, fragmented and non-standardised methodologies, and inadequate infrastructure for large-scale omics studies. Metagenomics holds great potential for increasing our understanding of environmental diversity and their systems-level functional attributes but there is currently a lack of sufficient standardisation and interoperability among metagenomic analyses and the data they produce.
