HOOP D8.7 Report summarising the results of the different National Replication Workshops

The National Replication Workshops (NRW) consist of an event organised by HOOP Lighthouses, targetingother cities and regions at national level, and primarily aiming to promote the replication of the HOOP project’soutcomes and of their achievements. HOOP Lighthouses were given much flexibility to adapt the event to theirneed, resources, and objectives. Overall, the different events seem to have brought attention from different organisations at regional and nationallevel. The lessons learned by the HOOP partners and especially the Lighthouses seem to be relevant for theparticipants, yet discussions highlighted some challenges for replication: the difficulty for local authorities toconsider innovative solutions going beyond well-established practices, and the fragility of biocircular businessmodel making financing challenging. Many National Replication Workshop also allowed Lighthouses to establish strong connections with other players, such as national authorities, fellow municipalities and waste management companies, or key players of thecircular bioeconomy value-chain. Such connections are essential to secure the continuation of HOOP-relatedactivities for all 8 Lighthouses.
