Roadmap for Implementing the Open Science Development Strategy
This document outlines the key steps for implementing the Open Science Development Strategy at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University (BSPU). It defines the objectives, responsible units, key performance indicators (KPIs), monitoring mechanisms, and available resources necessary for the successful implementation of open science initiatives at the university. The roadmap is part of BSPU’s broader Open Science Policy, which includes: Open Science Development Strategy – establishes the mission, vision, strategic goals, and principles of open science implementation. Roadmap for Policy Implementation – details implementation phases, responsibilities, tasks, KPIs, and monitoring mechanisms. Action Plan – describes short-term activities required to achieve the set objectives. This roadmap aligns with national and international initiatives, including Ukraine’s National Open Science Plan, the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) principles, the Barcelona Declaration, the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA), and the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment. It sets key evaluation metrics such as ORCID registration among faculty, integration of the institutional repository with OpenAIRE and EOSC, adherence to FAIR and CARE principles, and support for open-access publishing and citizen science projects. This document serves as a one-year pilot, after which the progress of its implementation will be assessed to guide the development of a long-term open science strategy at the university.
