Evaluation of ILSS Properties Carbon/Bamboo/Graphene reinforced Polymer Matrix Composites.
In material science, material selection is critical for selecting and improving material properties. A composite material plays a significant function depending on its use. Two or more components with distinct physical and chemical properties are combined to form a new enhanced property compound. Carbon fiber, bamboo fiber, Graphene (filler), and epoxy (resin) are some of the components used in this investigation. These composite materials are fabricated using the Hand layup technique. Carbon fibers and bamboo fibers were bonded with epoxy resin, and 1%, 1.5%, and 2 % Graphene (fillers) was added throughout the production process. The produced material was machined to ASTM specifications (300×300mm, thickness 3mm). The composite materials were tested for interlaminar shear strength (ILSS). It is found that there is significant increase in material properties with respect to inter laminar shear strength in the developed composite material.
