REDESIGNING REACTION PATHWAYS FOR A CARBON-NEGATIVE FUTURE: PLASMA-ASSISTED AND PHOTOCATALYTIC SYNERGIES FOR POLLUTION-FREE CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING
As the chemical industry confronts escalating climate challenges, conventional thermochemical processes are increasingly scrutinized for their high carbon footprints. This paper explores a novel redesign of chemical reaction pathways that integrates plasma-assisted catalysis with photocatalytic synergies to establish a sustainable, carbon-negative framework. These technologies enable reactions at lower temperatures, enhance selectivity, and use renewable inputs such as solar energy and ambient nitrogen, thus minimizing greenhouse gas emissions. The convergence of plasma and light-driven catalysis opens unprecedented avenues for zero-emission manufacturing, redefining energy input models and pollution control strategies in industrial chemistry.
